March 17, 20207 Color Palette Websites for Your Next Design

Finding the right colors to mix and match with each other is tricky to achieve. We’ve all been there. You think of an amazing design concept. You sketched it out. Then, when it’s time to create the design, you find yourself stuck trying to create the right color palette for the design. That is why knowing how to create the right color palette is important. Color palettes are used in creating illustrations, logo designs, website designs, app designs, etc. So, here are 7 color palette websites that will help you in creating a palette for your next design.
1. Colordot
Colordot is an easy color picker site to use. To get the hue of a certain color, you scroll your mouse back and forth. For the lightness of a certain color, scroll up and down. To find the saturation of a color, use your scroll wheel on your mouse. When you want to save a color, you just click on the color. There’s no limit to the number of colors you can save.
Once you’ve created the color palette you want, take a screenshot of the colors. Then, open the screenshot into the program (Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Affinity Designer, etc.) you plan on using to create your design. Now, you can use the color picker in your program of choice to fill your objects with the colors from your color palette.

2. Color Hexa
Color Hexa is a color tool that allows you to enter a color name or the RGB and Hex code of a color. Once you do that, it gives you information about the color, and it generates colors that go with that color. The color schemes could be complementary, analogous, monochromatic triadic, or tetradic. Also, Color Hexa converts colors to their equivalent (will convert RGB to CMYK). In addition, Color Hexa can generate gradients for the colors.

3. Palettable
Palettable lets you create a color palette by liking and disliking colors. If you like a color, it will add it to your palette. In contrast, if you dislike a color, it will discard the color. Also, you can use the slider to adjust or change a color. After you create your palette, you export your colors. Then, you import the color palette into the desired program you will be designing in.

4. Colormind
Colormind is a color palette generator that is powered by AI (artificial intelligence). To pick your colors, you go through the assorted colors and lock the ones you want to keep. Similarly, you can change the way the colors are arranged. Plus, with Colormind, you can upload an image to create a color palette. The colors will be extracted from the image, and it will find matching or better colors to create a palette for you.

* Bonus: Check out Colormind – Bootstrap UI Colors. It lets you generate a color palette, and you can test the colors out on a landing page to see how it will look on your next website design. Furthermore, this is another reason why Colormind is one of my favorite color palette websites.

5. Material Design Color Palette Generator
Material Design Color Palette Generator lets you create a color palette by clicking on the colors you like. Also, it gives a preview of the color palette by placing the colors onto text, icons, primary and secondary text, etc. of a Google layout. Once you create the palette, download it and open it in your program of choice.

6. uiGradients
uiGradients is a color palette that focuses on creating gradient palettes. These gradient palettes are good for icons, websites, or any other gradient design you want to create. Once you create the gradient you want, you download it.

7. Canva
Canva, which is well known for its graphic design tool, has a color palette generator. To create a color palette, you upload an image, and Canva creates a palette based on the colors in the image. Then, you scroll down the website to see the results. Also, it will give examples of what those colors look like in a design.
